Sheltering Abused Animals at The Gentle Barn

Nearly 120 “severely abused” animals are currently under the care of a nonprofit called, The Gentle Barn.
Their mission is “To rescue rehabilitee and give sanctuary to abused animals. Through the interaction with our animals, children learn reverence for all life.”  The animals include horses, chickens, pigs, an emu, goats and sheep.
The organization invites children at risk and special needs children to participate in the care and healing of the resident animals with the goal of teaching children, “…concepts of kindness and respect into their lives…”
