Multi-Generational Volunteers Rescue Sea Turtles in Texas

Photo from Sea Turtle Inc.
When the recent arctic air mass struck the normally temperate Texas coast, sea turtles, which are not cold-water friendly, were at high risk.   In fact, hundreds of Atlantic green sea turtles succumbed to the freezing weather.  Sea Turtle, Inc. put out a call for volunteers to rescue the sea turtles—to capture and transfer the turtles to warmer water.  From children to grandparents, about 75 volunteers braved the frigid weather and water and rescued 575 sea turtles.
