Technology For Impoverished Communities

Appropriate Technology For the World’s People is a college course designed to apply technology within impoverished communities.  The course tackles “Design” that includes  “environmentally benign” projects; “Development” where students study the “underlying causes of poverty;”  and “Dissemination” which is “dedicated to building small businesses and disseminating appropriate technology.” 
Students are currently involved with the “Guateca” project in San Pablo, Guatemala.
