Plastics "Washed Ashore" Art

Several  northern elephant seals are presently molting on the beach and likely choking to death from plastic strapping cutting into their flesh.  It's not easily removed by professionals.  Plastics in the sea affect marine life daily.  An Oregon group formed the Washed Ashore Project with the goal for "...global action... To create a stream of events, discussions and awareness that lead to active solutions," to reduce and end the amount of plastics found in the sea.

The Washed Ashore Project creates art using plastics found on the beach and in the sea and uses the art to help create awareness about this environmental challenge.
