Google Benefits Humanitarian and Environmental Efforts

Seven nonprofits will benefit from the recent first Google Global Impact Awards. They include water-monitoring technology at 4,000 wells across Africa; 500 science and math classes for underrepresented students;  sensors and animal tagging technology to detect and deter poaching;  and DNA barcoding to protect endangered species.
