Going Bald For the Kids

The Daily Prism annually reports on a St. Baldrick's Day--a fundraiser  to benefit research for kids with cancer.  According to the Saint Baldrick's Foundation webpage:  Worldwide, 175,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year. And in the U.S., more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease—more than AIDS, asthma, cystic fibrosis, congenital anomalies and diabetes combined.

 

The recent Baltimore, Maryland event set a goal to raise $150,000 in  2013 by seeking volunteers to shave their heads bald.  Here are photos from one team during yesterday's event:
