Boston Marathon Runners Bring In Big Bucks for Charity

The Associated Press reports that Boston Marathon runners are expected to raise more than $16 million to benefit numerous charities on Monday.

Last year’s event raised $28.3 million for nonprofit groups, according to Runner's World. Roughly 6,000 people are allowed to run who have not qualified for the highly competitive race, with most noncompetitive runners raising a minimum of $5,000 for charity, according to Runner's World.
